In order to participate as a coach in an MYAA sponsored sport, a person must attend a three hour Rutger's Safety Course and must under go the township's back ground check. 

The Rutger's Safety Course is currently offered monthly by the Meford Township Recreation Department.  The cost for the course is $25 and is covered by MYAA.  At the end of the course, cards will be issued to all coaches who have attended the 3 hour meeting.  The following dates have already been scheduled.  Normally, it will be the second Wednesday of the month. 

• 5/12 - 6:30 to 9:30  - At the Medford Public Safety Building.
• 6/16 - 6:30 to 9:30  - At the Medford Public Safety Building.
• No Courses will be offered in the Summer

• The background checks are done by Sagem Morpho, Inc.  Appointments can  be schduled at www.bioapplicant.com.  You need to bring a form with you that you can obtain from the Medford Recreation Department. The cost or this background check is curently being covered until June 30, 2010 by a state grant.  In 2010, MYAA will cover the cost if the grant does not continue.  Once the background check is returned with favorable results, the township will issue the coach a back ground check card.

A coach will need to have his Rutger' Safety Course and his Background Check cards with him whenever he coaches a MYAA game or practice.
